As interior demolition began, it was discovered that more than 3/4 of the cross beams of the balloon frame (which are integral in holding the house up) had been cut out. Our engineering team speculated thst this was done back in the early 1900's and sadly, his words were "this building is basically condemned". Both the current and former owners were heart broken but with the support of the local historic commission, the project moved forward as proposed. Exterior trim, detail and style is being recreated as it was... and watch for the "repurposing " of the few remaining beams and everything able to be savslvaged.
